** PROTOTYPE ALERT **

The viva Analog “1176-Xtended” Limiting Amplifier, my take on the celebrated giant … staying very close to the original signal path and side-chain circuits, both operating at 30vdc …

low-noise/low-distortion op-amp buffering at the input being the main addition to the overall circuit … a second op-amp buffer is optional for the output … (demo’d below with un-buffered output going into an original tube emulating 60w SS amplifier)

The main difference is the retro-fitting of continuous and fully independent RATIO and THRESHOLD controls … increasing the circuit’s level of versatility by making the response fully and continuously adjustable … covering way more dynamic territory than the original five pair combinations, which are still available as a set of marks on the two dials
